YOU ARE MY MOUNTAIN, TOGETHER WE STAND STRONG

100 COVID-19 Frontline Couples Wed in Atlantis Sanya

(Sanya, China – June 6, 2020) – Atlantis Sanya hosted a mass wedding for 100 couples – specifically, heroes from the COVID-19 frontline on the afternoon of June 6, 2020 in a momentous ceremony that truly embodied the spirit of “love overcomes all”.

Since the beginning of 2020, the coronavirus outbreak has swept across the nation with such wrecking impact that saw the whole country unite in an anti-epidemic battle. Wedding plans were forced to be put on hold amid the health crisis, especially for the heroes battling COVID-19 on the frontline. Viral outbreaks may be heartless and deadly, but it can never win against humanity. Just as unisons may be delayed, but love is here to stay. To celebrate and honor the spirit of humanity and love, the People’s Government of Sanya City led an initiative for 100 couples whom have had to postpone their wedding plans to bravely partake in the anti-epidemic battle on the frontline. Jointly organized by the Propaganda Department of CPC Sanya Municipal Committee, Sanya Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau, Sanya Tourism Promotion Board, and Sanya Municipal Health Committee, a mass wedding themed “You Are My Mountain, Together We Stand Strong: A Dream Wedding for COVID-19 Frontline Heroes Await in Sanya” was held in the romantic ambience of Atlantis Sanya on June 6.

After which, the wedding banquet commenced with Ballet on Shoulders, a spectacular performance combining water ballet and aerial acrobatics by C Show, followed by special acts put together by numerous caring enterprises based in Sanya, and even a rendition of the Danzhou folk song of Hainanese heritage that had made it all the way to cheer up patients and medical staff isolated in makeshift mobile cabin hospitals in Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus crisis. As the gala dinner drew to a close, a coordinated aerial display of 500 drones bedazzled the night skies to accolade the 100 newlywed couples for their self-sacrificial courage and frontline work during the coronavirus outbreak, to end the night on a perfect note.

As the main event venue for the mass wedding, multiple departments at Atlantis Sanya worked collectively to curate a meticulous plan for the prospective brides and grooms prior to their arrivals. Endearing and thoughtful arrangements right down to specific details included setting up 100 romantic honeymoon suites and a dreamy beach wedding location sprawling across 3,500 square meters, on top of planning the perfect banquet menu, C Show performance and the extensive banquet. The resort hotel also prepared special gifts for the newlywed couples and an itinerary of Instagram-worthy activities. On June 5, the inhouse C Show performance crew even tailored a touching act of proposal for one of the prospective grooms, where he popped the question to his bride-to-be in front of the live audience. Other than the 100 couples whom partook in this mass wedding, Atlantis Sanya will also be offering its al fresco lawn settings as complementary venues for other frontline workers whom registered but were unable to participate in the mass wedding due to time constraints. This sweet gesture by Atlantis Sanya will be made available till December 31, 2021 and shall include a one-time use of the resort’s lush lawns on the beachfront and right by the sea as well as the picturesque lawn extension of its majestic ballroom, to ensure that none of these delayed unions of love shall be left with further regrets.
