Michel Checoury, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer

Michel Checoury is Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for Kerzner International. An integral member of the leadership team, Mr. Checoury is responsible for the strategic financial planning and fiscal procedures across all aspects of the business, supporting the company’s growth, profitability and performance.

Kerzner International, through its subsidiaries, is a leading global developer and operator of destination resorts, ultra-luxury hotels and residences and innovative entertainment and gaming experiences. Kerzner International’s flagship brand, Atlantis, includes Atlantis, The Palm, a 1,500-room, entertainment resort destination on The Palm, overlooking the Arabian Sea and mainland Dubai; Atlantis, Sanya in China, as well as Atlantis, The Royal Resort & Residences in Dubai in development.  Under the One&Only Resorts brand, Kerzner International manages some of the most the top-rated, ultra-luxury resort properties in the world, located in Malaysia, Mexico, Mauritius, Montenegro, the Maldives, South Africa, Dubai, Australia and Rwanda. Additionally, Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, a 500-room destination golf and casino resort in Morocco, is also operated by Kerzner International, and in 2021, Kerzner introduced SIRO, a new, immersive lifestyle resort experience conceived with fitness and wellbeing at the core.

In addition to overseeing Finance, Michel leads Development, Technical Services, Information Technology and Legal functions for Kerzner International.  A highly analytical, strong and innovative leader, Mr. Checoury plays a key role in the expansion of the iconic Atlantis Resort and Residences and ultra-luxury One&Only Resorts brands worldwide, as well as the ongoing operational excellence of the current collection.

With over 30 years of international experience of Audit, Finance and Financial Management, Mr. Checoury joined Kerzner International from Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, where he held the role of Chief Financial Officer overseeing 85 properties in 27 countries. Prior to this, he worked at Aman for four years, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer & Chairman, and was in charge of Finance and Strategic Planning, IT and Retail across the 31-property portfolio. Throughout his notable career, Mr. Checoury has held financial leadership roles at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Jumeriah Group, InterContinental Hotels Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, building extensive experience overseas and in his native country, France.

Mr. Checoury holds a degree in Economics and an MBA in Finance – both from the Paris XII University in France.
