One&Only Cape Town - a Kincentric Best Employer 2019

10 December 2019 - One&Only Cape Town is proud to announce that the resort has been recognised as a ‘Best Employer’ in South Africa as part of Kincentric’s Best Employers 2019 global certification, a programme that measures and recognises leading employers who capture the full power of their people to drive results and create sustainable competitive advantage.

With 20 years of experience in Best Employer certification across the world, backed by over 50 years of employee research and a robust global database, the Kincentric Best Employers certification compares organisations to identify those that strive to continuously inspire their people, spark change and accelerate business success.

“We are honoured and humbled to be recognised as one of Kincentric Best Employers in South Africa for 2019,” said Richard Lyon, General Manager, One&Only Cape Town. “Our journey over the past four years has been incredibly rewarding, particularly seeing our Colleagues develop in a work environment where they have the confidence to express themselves and deliver truly amazing service.”

The Team at One&Only Cape Town have embraced a holistic strategy to improve the Colleague experience, reimagining the employee journey with a new arrival experience and renovated heart-of-house facilities. The resort has introduced programmes for colleagues’ physical, mental and emotional health, including a free-of-charge in-house clinic for both colleagues and immediate family members, regular coaching and financial planning sessions, as well as on-going wellness activities.

To achieve recognition through the Kincentric Best Employers certification One&Only Cape Town was assessed on four measures:

  1. Employee Engagement: Employees speak positively about their employer, intend to stay and are motivated to exert extra effort at work.
  2. Organisational Agility: Employees see that the organisation is highly adaptive, innovative, inclusive and responsive to the changing needs of its customers.
  3. Engaging Leadership: Leaders are deeply connected with employees to drive engagement, communicate a clear vision and exert strong personal values.
  4. Talent Focus: Employees see that the organisation is focusing on attracting and retaining great talent and creating an inspirational environment where people can thrive.
