Charles de Foucault is the General Manager at One&Only Le Saint Géran, the transformed resort that is redefining ultra-luxury in the Indian Ocean, following a multimillion dollar investment that will introduce the Mauritian legend into a modern ultra-luxury icon.
Responsible for managing the overall operation and strategic development of the reborn resort, Charles ensures that One&Only Le Saint Géran creates the ultimate Mauritian experience for today’s discerning travellers. Re-opening in December 2017, the resort is a celebration of her spectacular setting, with Mauritian nature, materials, craftsmanship and service at the heart of each re-imagined space. The 143 beautifully redesigned guestrooms, suites and signature Villa One all boast stunning lagoon, ocean or beach views, and luxurious interiors inspired by the natural beauty of the Mauritian peninsula. Enhanced culinary experiences, a rejuvenated spa, ultra-modern facilities as well as new swimming pools and wellness areas, all complement the enduring warmth and personalised care of the Mauritian service which remains unchanged.
An accomplished hotelier, Charles has over 35 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, garnered at leading hotels around the world. Prior to joining One&Only Le Saint Géran in 2012, Charles was General Manager at AYANA Resort & Spa Bali, where he headed the successful re-branding of the resort and led the hotel to recognition in several industry awards. Before relocating to Indonesia, as General Manager at Leela Palace in Bangalore, India, Charles successfully opened a new wing of the hotel, adding an additional 105 rooms to the property and driving standards for luxury hospitality in the region.
Charles began his career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, where he worked for over 17 years progressing through a range of senior leadership positions in the US, Canada, Caribbean, Middle East and Asia.
A Harley Davidson enthusiast, Charles has been riding since 1999, and he enjoys sharing his passion with resort guests, leading exclusive tours of the island on two wheels, exploring the incredible sights and revealing his personal insights, favourite places and memories with One&Only guests.

Charles studied hotel management at l’École Hotelière in Nice, France, and Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and he is fluent in both French and English.
