One&Only’s signature KidsOnly and One Tribe programmes are carefully tailored to younger guests – providing children aged 4 to 12 and teenagers from 13 to 17, with an exciting schedule of activities and experiences that allow for their own personal discovery and enjoyment. KidsOnly and One Tribe is complimentary for guests, with an additional charge for selected activities.
At KidsOnly, children aged between 4 and 12 are looked after by a highly trained and certified team, a clubhouse featuring arts and crafts, sporting facilities and a swimming pool. Fun and engaging activities includes a pirate cruise day fill with activities such as hat making and an island treasure hunt. Other activities include art classes, coffee art painting, DIY t-shirt making, bubble art, Maldivian ‘boduberu’ drumming classes, wall painting, sand art and archaeology digging experiences. Children aged 4 and below are welcome at KidsOnly, but they must be accompanied by a parent or babysitter. For babies and toddlers, the resort offers professional babysitting services for a fee.
One Tribe welcomes younger guests between the ages of 13 and 17 where they will be entertained by a variety of fun and exciting activities that pique their sense of wellbeing, discovery and adventure. The One Tribe programme was developed to maximise youngers guests’ experience whilst staying in one of the world’s most luxurious surroundings. The Clubhouse, situated right next door to the resort’s main beach, is filled with a host of activities and provides a space for teens to play games, hang out with their newly made friends or learn a new trick or two. One Tribe is not confined to one area at the resort, with many activities situated in other areas such as wellness activities and classes based at One&Only Spa such as yoga and fun fitness classes, water activities at Club One and even a sandbank survival trip on their own ‘desert’ island. One Tribe aims to link similar aged guests together to solidify new friendships and the memories that go with them.
The resort offers a KidsOnly menu in the restaurants that has been specially designed with younger tastes in mind. Special meals for infants and toddlers include fresh fruit and vegetable purée, baby vegetable risotto and mini meatballs, created for kids of different ages. At KidsOnly, children above 4 years have the chance to make their own pizzas, sushi, cookies and snacks during organised cookery classes, and even take a tour of the Chef’s Garden at Botanica where they collect ingredients for their cooking class. In addition, children are invited to experiment with creating their own delicious ice cream creations with a range of toppings from healthy fruits and coconut shavings to multi-coloured sprinkles and sweets, at the dedicated Sweet Paradise ice cream parlour.
Activities for teens embrace the island’s natural environment and the resort’s extensive amenities. Fully qualified counsellors are on hand to organise activities ranging from swimming, beach volleyball, tennis and snorkelling adventures as well as unique experiences such as bonfire evenings, sunset fishing, movie nights, mocktail mixology classes and a host of other fun events. Teenagers are also spoilt for choice with a wide range of water sports and excursions on offer: windsurfing, snorkelling, fishing, water-skiing and kayaking are available, supervised by highly trained professionals to ensure maximum safety and proper use of equipment. One&Only Spa offers a real sense of wellbeing with various treatments and classes offered to teens that will see them not only enjoying their time at the idyllic spa but also learning about their wellness.
For every age, Club One is the hub for all things active at the resort, including the ROCK climbing wall, two floodlit tennis courts, the Artist Studio and an action-packed watersports centre where younger guests can explore a range of activities on offer. For families with older children, exploring the underwater wonders of the Indian Ocean is a memorable way to spend quality time together and the resort’s PADI-certified Dive Centre organises scuba diving excursions and courses for all levels.
