Jerome Colson is the General Manager of One&Only Desaru Coast, an ultra-luxury beachfront retreat located in Malaysia’s tropical south-east. The resort is the first One&Only in Asia as part of the expanding collection, as the brand continues to grow and develop internationally.

Jerome is responsible for overseeing the operation, guest experience and strategy for the resort, which encompasses 42 suites, two Grand Suites, an exclusive four-bedroom villa, as well as approximately 50 One&Only Private Homes available for purchase. Designed by renowned firm Kerry Hill Architects, the resort will be incredibly private, offering a secluded hideaway that buzzes with a vibrant life and energy. The 128-acre resort is designed with lofty pavilions and open verandas affording spectacular vistas out to the ocean, whilst the country’s rich culture will be celebrated through carefully curated One&Only experiences and an inspired décor that highlights local artisans. The resort will also be a home to a destination spa, dynamic beach club and captivating culinary and mixology experiences.

Bringing more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the role, Jerome has an extensive past portfolio that encompasses roles at a number of luxury hotel brands across the globe. Jerome joined One&Only in 2012 as Hotel Manager at One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius, and he has held senior leadership roles for the brand at resorts including the award-winning One&Only Reethi Rah, located on one of the largest private islands in The Maldives.

Jerome exudes the culture and philosophy of personalised and warm service. He is a strong leader that imbues excellence in his Team - at One&Only Le Saint Géran he brought guest satisfaction to its highest rating since 2008. His passion for hospitality and service began at Ritz-Carlton, where he worked within the Food and Beverage division, travelling from California, USA to Shanghai, China. Jerome has also worked for Ayana Resort and Spa, Bali, which was recognised by Condé Nast Traveler as the ‘Best Resort in Asia 2011’ during his tenure.

Jerome studied Hotel and Catering Management in École Hôtelière Strasbourg-Illkirch in France. He is fluent in both French and English. He lives in Johor with his wife and two children.
