As part of a series of world-class bar collaborations, Nobu Dubai welcomes Eric van Beek from Handshake Speakeasy, one of the leading figures in the international bartending industry.

Taking place for one night only on Saturday 17th February, the bar team at Nobu Dubai helmed by Bar Manager, Angel Immorlano, welcomes Eric van Beek, Director and Co-Founder, and Daniel Delgado, Head of the Laboratory of the acclaimed Handshake Speakeasy bar in Mexico, for an exciting collaboration. Guests can look forward to taking a journey across the world of mixology, while sampling four unique creations by van Beek and four by Immorlano, specially crafted for the evening.

Not only ranked no.2 among North America’s 50 Best Bars but also no.3 among the World’s 50 Best Bars, Handshake Speakeasy will present signature beverages, including Earl Grey featuring Bombay Sapphire, sake, Early Grey, Bergamot and lemongrass to Banana Split with Bacardi, banana and a sherry blend. Meanwhile, Nobu Dubai will showcase creations such as Oshinko featuring Grey Goose, dry vermouth, lacto mango chilli honey and coriander tincture as well as BNW with Bombay premier Cru, Wakamomo, sweet vermouth, fig and green tea and Campari.  For those seeking a broader selection, Nobu Dubai will also offer its popular à la carte Nobu bar menu.

Evoking images of the original speakeasies of the 1920s seen through a Hollywood lens, Handshake is one of Mexico’s best-kept open secrets. Those who are lucky enough to stumble upon the bar hidden behind a secret door in a dimly lit room stocked with vintage spirits are treated to a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience featuring delightful concoctions that celebrate the essence of vintage spirits. Handshake Speakeasy has mastered the art of curating beverages that appear classic to the eye, but reveal unexpected, layered flavours to the palate.

Originally from the Netherlands, Eric van Beek has been recognised as a world-class bartender throughout his illustrious career, including emerging victorious as Bacardi Legacy Global Winner in 2018. One of the most influential figures in the bar industry, van Beek was also recognised for running the most creative cocktail programme in the Netherlands for two consecutive years from 2018 to 2019.

With over 17 years of industry experience, Spanish-Italian native Angelo, is the architect and driving force behind Nobu Dubai’s enhanced beverage programme. A trailblazer in the mixology community of Dubai, Immorlano has been at the helm of the Nobu Dubai beverage program since 2022.
