Summary

Lost for thousands of years deep beneath the sea, the ancient ruins of The Lost City of Atlantis have finally been uncovered. Guests can experience the myth of Atlantis through the resort’s AZA-accredited Lost Chambers Aquarium and The Ambassador Lagoon. With daily complimentary access offered to all guests of Atlantis, The Ambassador Lagoon and The Lost Chambers Aquarium combined are home to over 250 species and 65,000 marine animals including Moon Jellies, Moray Eels, Lobsters, Eagle Rays, and Arabian carpetsharks. These are thriving educational environments for all guests to discover marine life and learn more about how to protect it. Atlantis, Dubai was the first destination in the Middle East to receive accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the international gold standard for animal welfare, in March 2020. The aquatic destination became a member of World Associations of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) in August 2021. From June 2021 onwards, for every marine experience booked at The Lost Chambers and The Ambassador Lagoon, 1 USD will be donated to conservation, sustainability, and environmental education initiatives as part of Atlantis Atlas Project.

Guests can discover the maze of underground tunnels and 21 exhibits of The Lost Chambers, bringing them into close contact with the myth and the advanced inventions of the ancient Atlanteans. With a gold standard accreditation from the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA), guests can be assured that The Lost Chambers meets the highest standards for animal care and welfare. As part of the Atlantis Atlas Project, children and adults alike can also take part in a range of extraordinary educational programmes and experiences that provide an up-close look at the resort’s magnificent animals and how we look after them. All of our educators are trained to deliver the highest quality programmes, ensuring an exciting and memorable experience and our aim is to build a lifelong appreciation for marine life and encourage our guests to protect nature and our oceans. For every marine experience booked, 1 USD will be donated to conservation, sustainability, and environmental education initiatives as part of Atlantis Atlas Project.

Mini Marine Biologist Programme

Younger children can be part of Atlantis’ specialist Aquarist team as they join them in the shallow water to get an up-close look at starfish, sea cucumbers and baby sharks. During this fun-filled adventure, they’ll learn all about marine life with incredible facts that they will be able to expertly pass onto their family and friends.

Junior Marine Biologist Programme 

Enjoy a visit to the state-of-the-art Fish Hospital with our Aquarists and learn all about our breeding programmes. Junior Marine Biologists will get a chance to feed our newly born sharks and rays and discover what it takes to care for 65,000 marine animals in The Lost Chambers Aquarium.

Master Marine Biologist Programme

A behind the scenes experience of the resort’s world-class facilities will educate teens on the basics of animal care, feeding and maintenance, as well as the on-site breeding programmes. By shadowing one of the Marine Mammal Specialists, participants will discover what it takes to care for dolphins and sea lions and get the opportunity to meet the Aquarists to experience first-hand how to prepare food and feed animals including our jellyfish, corals, and tropical fish.

Fish Tales Tour

For those who marvel at life underwater, visitors can join a guided tour back of house at The Fish Hospital on a Fish Tales Tour, to see Atlantis Dubai’s shark and ray breeding programmes which help to restore local populations in Dubai waters and learn about conservation.

A first of its kind in the region and set against the mesmerising tranquillity of the Ambassador Lagoon, guests are invited to take part in underwater yoga and Pilates experiences at The Lost Chambers Aquarium. Surrounded by a majestic 65,000 marine animals, guests have the opportunity to be rejuvenated and restored in a unique aquatic surrounding practicing Hatha Yoga and Pilates, wellness disciplines that helps bring peace to the mind and body. The Ambassador Lagoon

The Ambassador Lagoon is an 11 million litre, 10-metre-deep, marine habitat and underwater exhibit home to 250 species of marine life and 65,000 marine animals, with a viewing panel looking directly into the mystical ruins of Atlantis. This habitat focuses on marine life found in the local waters of the Arabian Gulf, including golden trevally, cobias, crescent angelfish and a variety of sharks and rays. Here, guests can watch the sea life peacefully while learning about fish species and ocean preservation. Atlantis Dubai is home to more than 65,000 marine animals cared for by a dedicated team of animal care professionals and an onsite veterinary team showcasing our commitment to maintaining and surpassing the highest standards of animal care, conservation and education.
