Jerome Pichon is the General Manager of One&Only Desaru Coast, an ultra-luxury beachfront retreat located in Malaysia’s tropical south-east. Jerome is responsible for the operation, guest experience and strategy for the resort and Private Homes, the first One&Only in Asia as part of the expanding collection, as the brand continues to grow and develop internationally.

Designed by renowned firm Kerry Hill Architects, the 128-acre resort was designed with lofty pavilions and open verandas affording spectacular vistas out to the ocean, whilst the country’s rich culture is celebrated through carefully curated One&Only experiences and an inspired décor that highlights local artisans. The resort is also home to a destination spa in partnership with Chenot, the vibrant Ember Beach Club in partnership with esteemed Chef Andrew Walsh, and captivating culinary and mixology experiences.

Prior to joining One&Only Desaru Coast, Jerome was General Manager at the Arts Club Dubai, overseeing the opening of the first international outpost of the historic private members’ club. He previously worked for Kerzner from 2016 to 2020, most recently holding the role of Director of Global Operations and Resort Openings. Jerome was deeply involved in developing concepts for new resorts and supporting the pre-opening operational teams, in particular for the successful openings of One&Only Gorilla’s Nest and One&Only Nyungwe House in Rwanda, which were both named #1 and #2 Resorts in Africa by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller.

Jerome graduated from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. Before joining Kerzner, Jerome held a number of senior leadership positions at leading hotels in Dubai, including Hotel Manager at The Ritz Carlton and The Palace Downtown, as well as Director of Food and Beverage at Armani Hotel Dubai. Jerome brings more than 20 years of valued hospitality experience to Kerzner, after beginning his career in Food & Beverage, he is now a global hotelier having worked in the US, Europe and the Middle East. He has built his expertise at renowned addresses including The Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, Beau Rivage Palace in Lausanne and Phoenicia Beirut, and has experience managing large teams and overseeing complex operations.

A French national, Jerome speaks French, English and Spanish. Born in Bordeaux, he is a passionate oenophile, naming his eldest daughter after his preferred wine region, Margaux.

He enjoys an active lifestyle, his hobbies include skiing, surfing and golf. Jerome has a keen interest in architecture and interior design, contemporary history and enjoys travelling with his family, he is married with two daughters.
