One&Only Resorts and Mara Hoffmann Unveil Exclusive Swimwear Capsule Collection

One&Only, the ultra-luxury collection of Resorts and Private Homes set in some of the world’s most captivating destinations, has announced the launch of an exclusive, capsule range with Mara Hoffman, the award-winning sustainable fashion designer and President & Creative Director of her eponymous brand. Launching January 30^th, the swimwear collection uses sustainable materials and features a bold tropical pattern inspired by the vibrancy and energy of One&Only, and the abundant landscapes of Mexico’s Riveria Nayarit. Influenced by the unrivaled glamour and vibrancy of the One&Only experience, the limited-edition line includes a bikini set, one-piece swimsuit and sarong. The swimwear is made from newly developed PYRATEX® Power 3 fabric, while the sarong is Fair Trade Certified made with 100% organic cotton, underscoring the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Mara drew vision for the design during her time discovering the spiritual wonders of the rainforest at One&Only Mandarina, a resort set in a rare and undeveloped stretch of coastline in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit. Capturing the joyful memories spent with family and friends immersed in nature, Mara designed a floral print featuring shades of vivid orange and rich green for the bikini and one-piece, inspired by the natural flora and fauna of the destination. With a deep reverence and respect for the splendor of natural wonders, the design of the sarong is evocative of an unforgettable hiking and spiritual experience to “La Abuela”- The Grandmother, an ancient and sacred tree found in the rainforest surrounding One&Only Mandarina. 

“When I visited One&Only Mandarina with my family last year, we were immersed in the breathtaking beauty of Riviera Nayarit that inspired me to design this collection, reflecting my connection with the awe-inspiring rainforest and the beauty of the Pacific Ocean,” said Mara Hoffman. “From sunrise nature walks and hikes to surfing with my family as well as moments of solitude spent surrounded by the natural beauty of the region, this collaboration encapsulates my deep commitment to the preservation of the environment. The collection is packaged in eco-friendly wrapping made of materials with a low impact on the environment. 

The boldly printed range features innovative PYRATEX® Power 3 fabric, with Mara Hoffman being the first fashion brand to use the eco fabric in swimwear, underscoring the brand’s goal of fossil fuel-free operations and commitment to creating less harmful fashion for people and the planet. Composed of 89% TENCEL^TM lyocell x micro and 11% elastane, the Power 3 fabric is a significant step towards synthetic-free swimwear that still retains essential qualities expected from beachwear such as stretch, quick drying, and antibacterial properties. 

Inspired by the colors and foliage of the Riviera Nayarit rainforest, the effortlessly chic sarong doubles as a poolside coverup, a casual dress to lounge in while enjoying quiet moments in nature or for evenings spent alfresco under the stars. Made from 100% Organic Cotton, as Mara Hoffman only sources Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified organic cotton grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and relying mainly on rainwater for irrigation, the sarong is Fair Trade Certified, a globally recognized certification that guarantees sustainable working conditions, fair pay for workers, environmental protections during manufacturing and supply chain transparency.

Mara Hoffman founded her eponymous label, known for bold and vibrant prints, in the year 2000 directly after graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York City. Renowned for being a leader in sustainability in the fashion world, the brand made a commitment to carrying out more sustainable and responsible practices, encouraging consumers and the fashion industry to rethink their relationship with clothing and its effect on the environment. In November 2023, Mara Hoffman was honored with the CFDA Environmental Sustainability Award.
