Perfect Pairing of Gastronomy and Music at One&Only Le Saint Géran

One&Only Le Saint Géran, the ultra-luxury Mauritian retreat, serenely located on private beachfront peninsula, welcomes renowned concert pianist and composer Van-Anh Nguyen, for Perfect Pairings, a weekend of sensory gourmet experiences. Epicureans and classical music lovers alike will delight in Van-Anh’s live compositions, paired with expertly selected wines and a delectable French five-course menu on Friday, 16 November and Sunday, 18 November 2018.

The Perfect Pairings menu has been crafted by the resort’s talented Head Chef from PRIME, Vikash Coonjan, with wine pairings by Head Sommelier, Michael Bongrand. Every course of the menu will be complemented by live music from Van-Anh, with each song especially chosen to match and highlight the cuisine and wine being savoured by diners. The five-course fine dining menu takes inspiration from classical French cuisine, with exquisite courses such as Luted Scallops with Chayote Leaves, paired with 2014 vintage Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, accompanied by a live rendition of Debussy Arabesque No 1 performed by Van-Anh.

Located on an exclusive tropical peninsula, flanked by the warm ocean and a tranquil lagoon, One&Only Le Saint Géran has emerged entirely transformed following a multi-million-dollar investment, introducing the legendary resort as a modern-day icon. Long celebrated as the iconic luxury retreat in Mauritius, One&Only Le Saint Géran retains what guests have always loved - a sense of seclusion on its own private peninsula with a beachfront and calm lagoon unlike any other resort on the island. The entire resort has been completely transformed, with dynamic new culinary experiences, new playful swimming pools with cabanas, reimagined public spaces, a stunning new spa, Club One, and a range of ultra-modern facilities.

This is the first performance in Mauritius for award-winning Australian-Vietnamese musician Van-Anh, who hit the number 1 spot in the Australian iTunes Classical charts in 2016 and 2017. A child musical prodigy turned world-wide sensation, Van-Anh has performed live in countries all over the world including prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House, City Recital Hall, Segerstrom Center of the Arts in California, USA and many more. Signed to the Universal Music/Decca Records family, Van-Anh’s solo classical crossover album is due for release in January.

“We are thrilled to partner with renowned pianist Van-Anh Nguyen to curate these extraordinary events combining refined cuisine, amazing wines and creative classical music. This innovative concept is a first for One&Only Le Saint Géran and further elevates the culinary offering for our guests and the residents of Mauritius,” said Charles de Foucault, General Manager of One&Only Le Saint Géran.

The Perfect Pairings dinner is priced at MUR 6,500 (USD $193) per person for five courses, inclusive of wine pairings. The evenings on 16 and 18 November begin at 7pm with a welcome champagne reception, followed by dinner at 7.30pm.
